OUR VISION

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY
IN SPORT.
REGARDLESS OF GENDER.

Her Sport is Ireland’s leading platform for women’s sport. Through media, education, advocacy and the Her Sport Foundation, we are building a sporting culture where more girls and women can start, stay and succeed.

Did you know we deliver workshops to schools, clubs and businesses?

Our workshops develop knowledge, confidence and practical skills across the key areas that influence participation, wellbeing and belonging in sport. Sessions are adapted to suit your group, with the option to deliver a series for deeper, more sustained impact.

VISIBILITY

Visibility changes what girls believe is possible. 55% say seeing female athletes inspires them to play sport. That’s why Her Sport puts women’s sport front and centre, giving 900+ female athletes visibility in just one year.

EDUCATION

Her Sport has reached 4,000+ students, helping girls build the confidence, knowledge and tools to stay in sport. We also work with the people and organisations around them to create lasting change in the environments where girls play, learn and grow.

ADVOCACY

We are the voice for girls and women in sport. Her Sport has contributed to the National Strategy for Women and Girls and Oireachtas Committees on inclusion in sport. Our advocacy focuses on systemic change, from better access to toilets and changing facilities to safer, more inclusive environments for women and girls to be active.

FOUNDATION

The Her Sport Foundation removes financial barriers to sport, subsidising workshops for schools and providing vital support to clubs, teams and athletes for kit, equipment and travel.

THE PROBLEM

1 IN 2

GIRLS ARE GONE BY 20

By age 20, half of young women have stopped participating in sport — missing out on health, confidence and opportunity.

11%

ARE ACTIVE ENOUGH

Just 11% of teenage girls in Ireland meet daily activity guidelines. Most are missing out on the lifelong benefits of movement.

94%

SPORT BUILDS LEADERS

94% of women in executive managerial positions have a background in sport. The skills learned on the field travel far beyond it.

€1.5BN

THE COST OF INACTIVITY

Physical inactivity costs Ireland an estimated €1.5 billion each year through healthcare costs and lost productivity.

WOMEN’S SPORT IS STILL UNDER-SEEN

Women’s sport still receives less than one-fifth of sports coverage. Yet seeing female athletes inspires girls to believe sport is for them.
