This Sunday on TG4, the Her Sport ’30 years of Ladies Football in New York’ documentary brought to you by Gym+Coffee will air at 6pm.

On Sunday 14th August at 6pm, TG4 will air an exclusive documentary produced by Her Sport showcasing the 30-year journey of Ladies Gaelic football in the Big Apple, New York City.  The documentary, brough to you in association with Gym+Coffee shares the incredible story of the founding of Ladies Football in New York and brings to life the community aspect of the game in New York.

In 1992 a group of Irish women and men in New York famously exclaimed “They have it in Boston, they have it in Philly, why can’t we have it here? ‘’ and so, later that year, the first-ever Ladies Gaelic Football Championship League took place in the city.

From that day onwards, the New York Ladies Gaelic football Association was established and now is the only lady’s county team outside of Ireland and the UK.

2022 marks the 30-year anniversary of the association in New York. With this milestone, Her Sport has produced a documentary celebrating the anniversary of Ladies Gaelic Football in New York, so be sure to watch.
