Ireland U19s to play Friendlies with Wales, Northern Ireland

The Ireland Women’s Under-19s have lined up three International Friendly games to help prepare for upcoming UEFA European Championship Qualifiers.

Head Coach Dave Connell has selected a new-look squad with several uncapped players at this level for a trip to Wales and then to Northern Ireland.

Ireland will take on Wales twice, on Wednesday, September 20 and Friday, September 22, in Wrexham before coming up against Northern Ireland on Sunday, September 24 in Belfast.

Amongst those included in the squad are the reigning WU17 International Player of the Year Aoife Kelly and WU16 International Player of the Year Freya Healy.

The three games are important to Connell and his staff in preparing the squad for what could be a difficult 2023/24 UEFA Women’s Under-19 European Championship campaign – which sees them travel to Belgium to face the host nation as well as Faroe Islands and Netherlands in Group A6.
