Who is Skye Nicolson , what’s her background?
Skye Nicolson is a professional boxer from Australia.
Born on the 27th of August 1995 to her dad Allan and her mum Pat, she’s now 28 years old and mainly resides in London.
In 1994, the year before she was born, two of her brothers, Jamie and Gavin, tragically died in a car accident.
Jamie was a renowned boxer in his own right, winning a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in 1990, and competing in the Olympics on behalf of Team Australia in 1992.
Their parents set up the the Jamie Nicolson Memorial Gym in his honour in the town of Yatala, south of Brisbane, and that’s where Skye first picked up boxing at the age of 12.

Who is Skye Nicolson , what’s her boxing history?
Nicolson kicked off her career in 2016 with a bronze medal at the World Championships in the welterweight class.
However, that same year she missed out on the Rio Olympics and made the decision to drop four weight classes into the featherweight division.
It paid off then at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, with the Queensland athlete overcoming Northern Ireland’s Michaela Walsh in the final to claim gold.
She secured Olympic qualification for Tokyo 2020 when she was victorious over Mongolia’s Bolortuul Tumurkhuyag at the 2020 Asia and Oceania Qualification event in Amman, Jordan, and eventually competed at the delayed competition in 2021.
There she made the quarter finals in the featherweight division, falling just short to Great Britain's Karriss Artingstall.
With 137 wins in comparison to her 15 losses under her belt as an amateur, Nicolson signed for Matchroom Boxing in late 2021 and made her professional debut in March 2022.
That clash took place at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in San Diego, and her opponent was an American fighter, Jessica Juarez. Nicolson reigned triumphant via unanimous decision, sparking an exciting start to her new career.

Who has Skye Nicolson previously fought?
Skye Nicolson is currently 8-0 in her professional boxing career.
Following her debut win against Juarez, she went on to face Bec Connolly later that month in Leeds, Shanecqua Paisley Davis the next month in Madison Square Garden and Gabriela Bouvier later that year in Wales, winning all of them.
In October 2022 she won her inaugural Commonwealth featherweight title when she prevailed versus Krystina Jacobs back at home in Queensland Australia, a fitting way to mark the last time she’s fought on home soil.
MSG awaited her once again then where she came out on top vs Tania Alvarez to win the WBC Silver featherweight title in February 2023.
She retained that in her clash with Linda Laura Lecca in Wales in April, before winning the WBC interim featherweight title against Sabrina Maribel Perez in Mexico this September.
Her bout against Lucy Wildheart will be the first time she’ll defend that title, all in pursuit for a shot at the full WBC featherweight title, currently held by none other than Amanda Serrano.
