Vartry Angling Club Ladies Opening Day

The Vartry Angling Club is hosting a fly-fishing Ladies Opening Day on Sunday November 6th, 2022 from 10am to 3:30pm. 

 

In association with the Wicklow Sports and Recreation Partnership, Wicklow County Council and Wicklow Town Municipal District, the Vartry Angling Club is hosting a one-day-only event for ladies and girls at all stages and ages to try out fly fishing or fly casting on their club grounds.

There will be some guest Anglers such as Mary Harkin, Edel Decies, the current captain of the Irish Ladies Fly Fishing Team, Almha McDonnell, as well as some other current and former members of the Irish Ladies Fly Fishing Team. 

 

For a small charge of €5 per person, all rods and safety gear will be available with assistance on how to use it. Tea, Coffee, Biscuits, Soup and Sandwiches are also available to snack on during the event. 

 

All participants are advised to wear warm, waterproof clothing and appropriate footwear. Make sure to Pre-Register and book your spot before Wednesday, November 2nd to ensure a good instructor-to-novice ratio.
