Hopkins will be aiming for a strong result to finish off a successful year for the Irish Sailing Team.

“Aoife will be confident of getting a funding result after a strong performance at the Europeans last month and an excellent preparation period leading into the Worlds,” said James O’Callaghan, Irish Sailing Performance Director.

“No doubt the recent results from her teammates will also serve as inspiration,” said O’Callaghan referring to Finn Lynch’s silver medal in the men’s race and Sean Craig’s World Masters fourth, both secured over the last month.

There will be two races a day until Saturday, when the fleets split into Gold and Silver depending on rank. The final result is expected by Monday the 6th of December.
