Maebh Brannigan Wins Frank Duffy 10 Mile With New Personal Best

Maebh Brannigan continued her strong season with victory at the Irish Life Frank Duffy 10 Mile in Phoenix Park.

The Galway City Harriers athlete won the women’s race in a new 10-mile personal best of 56:59, adding another result to what has become a breakthrough year on the roads.

“I’ve had a great year,” Brannigan said afterwards. “I had a breakthrough in March with my times and I’ve just been getting faster, so it’s given me a lot of purpose and excitement with the sport.”

That sense of progression showed in Phoenix Park. Brannigan’s win came at a sold-out event, the second race in the 2026 Irish Life Dublin Race Series. The race also incorporated the 2026 Dublin 10 Mile Road Championships.

Sarah Diamond of Kilcoole AC finished second in 58:55, securing her second consecutive podium in the Irish Life Dublin Race Series. Pamela Kirk of RoadRunners AC completed the women’s podium in 59:53.

The Frank Duffy 10 Mile has been part of the Irish road racing calendar for almost five decades. First held in 1978, it is named in memory of Civil Service Harriers coach Frank Duffy and remains one of the best-known fixtures in the Dublin running year.

This year’s race brought thousands of runners to Phoenix Park and continued the build through the Dublin Race Series, which concludes with the Irish Life Dublin Half Marathon on Sunday, September 20.
