The 2024 TG4 All-Ireland Senior Championship has reached the business end, and after a series of dominant quarter-final displays, four teams remain in the hunt for the Brendan Martin Cup.
Champions Kerry, perennial contenders Dublin, 2022 winners Meath, and last year’s finalists Galway will meet in a blockbuster double-header on Saturday, July 19th in Tullamore.
Kerry vs Meath – 5:15pm, Tullamore
Reigning champions Kerry showed no signs of slowing down in their 3-12 to 0-11 win over Kildare.
But Meath bring momentum of their own – Vikki Wall and Emma Duggan helped power a big win against Tipperary in a statement quarter-final showing.
With these sides meeting for a fourth consecutive year at the business end of the championship, and Kerry holding narrow recent wins, this semi-final is shaping up to be a tense and thrilling affair.
Dublin vs Galway – 7:30pm, Tullamore
Dublin cruised past Cork with a commanding 3-15 to 0-7 win, with Hannah Tyrrell and Kate Sullivan leading the charge. Galway were also impressive, seeing off Waterford 1-18 to 1-12, with Kate Slevin continuing her fine form. Tyrrell and Slevin have been among the standout players in the championship, and both will be central again this weekend.
These two didn’t meet in this year’s league, but Galway edged their last championship clash in extra time. With Dublin’s star-studded squad facing Galway’s determined and experienced outfit, this clash promises to go the distance once more.
Tullamore will host a day of high-stakes action and championship drama – and by Saturday night, we’ll know who’s heading to Croke Park.
