Eve McMahon has secured a spot for Ireland at the Paris Olympics through her outstanding performance in Olympic qualification in Argentina.
The 19-year-old from Howth claimed a coveted spot in the women's single-handed event at the ILCA6 World Championships in Mar del Plata, with an official confirmation expected at the conclusion of the event. McMahon achieved this feat with a race to spare, solidifying Ireland's representation in three sailing disciplines at the upcoming Games.

McMahon's Early Success
This accomplishment comes less than one year after McMahon made her senior level debut and a few months after she won the u21 world championship title in the ILCA6 class in October 2023.
As the lone Irish contender in the senior-level class, the Dubliner's name will be put forward by Irish Sailing to the Olympic Federation of Ireland [OFI] for inclusion in the Olympic team bound for Paris.

Road to Paris for Irish sailors
This accomplishment adds to Ireland's earlier qualifications, with Finn Lynch and the duo of Robert Dickson and Sean Waddilove securing spots in the men's single-handed and men's skiff events, respectively.
The road to finalising nominations for the OFI will involve trials series at upcoming spring regattas.
