The long, complicated process of ticket sales has finally started for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Here's everything you need to know about how to get your own tickets.
Phase 1 of the Paris 2024 Ticketing Programme opened December 1st, meaning that fans have from now until Jan. 31, 2023 to register for the ticket lottery. This first phase is only for ticket packages; a lottery for individual tickets will take place from March-May 2023.
Fans, especially those travelling from Ireland, are encouraged to register their interest as early as possible to avoid disappointment, though nearly 10 million tickets are expected to be offered.
Intense interest in the games is expected from Ireland: the 2024 games take place on the 100th anniversary of Ireland's first participation in the competition. The 1924 Olympics were also held in Paris.
Those lucky enough to win the ticket lottery (by random draw) will be given a specific 48-hour-window in February or March 2023 in which to purchase tickets.
