The IRFU issued an apology to the Wales Women's Rugby team after they were left without hot water in the showers following freezing conditions at Energia Park.

The IRFU have apologised to the Wales Women’s International Rugby team after it was revealed that they were without hot water in their showers following their 31-12 defeat to Ireland at Energia Park, Donnybrook.
With much of the second-half was played in atrocious and blistering conditions as Storm Ciara wreaked havoc. A tough day for the Welsh worsened when they were left without enough hot water for their post-match showers.
Wale’s out-half Robyn Wilkins revealed in an interview after the game that the team had to take “cold showers, unfortunately” in what was freezing conditions already.
She said: “We’re all cold, it doesn’t help that we’ve got cold showers, unfortunately.
“But we’re a tight-knit bunch, this will make us stronger. We’ll come together and we go again. We’ve got two weeks now to kick in and train hard for that French game.”

The IRFU were quick to issue an apology after the issue was identified and acknowledged that every effort was made to resolve the problem. It was later confirmed that an issue with the water heater was at fault for the problem.
“The IRFU have apologised to the @WelshRugbyUnion team for an issue with the water heater in their changing room today,” the IRFU said in a statement on Twitter.
“Every effort was made to resolve the problem & extra amenities were provided. The IRFU would like to thank the team for their understanding & apologise again.”
