GAA Star Vikki Wall Targeting Ireland Women’s Sevens Spot For 2024 Olympics

GAA and WAFL star Vikki Wall seems set to make a bid to play for the Ireland Women’s Sevens side at the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris next year.

Having recently exited the LGFA All-Ireland Championships with her Meath team, Wall is reportedly close to finalizing a deal with the IRFU. Her current Australian club, North Melbourne, is keen to retain her services and is exploring all options with Wall and her management.

Wall had signed a two-year contract with North Melbourne last July following back-to-back All-Ireland successes with Meath. Should the deal with the IRFU be finalised, Wall will forego a second season in Aussie Rules.

A spokesperson from the Kangaroos told the Irish Examiner Sport: “Vikki has been presented with an opportunity to represent Ireland in the Rugby 7’s at the 2024 Olympic Games. As a club, we are exploring all possible options and outcomes with Vikki and her management in order to retain her services.”
