MULTIMEDIA JOURNALIST

Supported by Sport Ireland through the Women in Sport Media Internship Initiative

Her Sport is hiring a Multimedia Journalist (Internship) to join our team on a full-time basis for 12 months (full-time position available upon satisfactory completion of internship). This internship is supported by Sport Ireland as part of the Women in Sport Media Internship Initiative. The successful candidate will be given structured mentorship, training and a fully embedded experience in our editorial and content production team.

This is a unique opportunity to gain direct experience in sports journalism, digital storytelling and content creation within a dedicated women’s sports media organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, plan and produce original content across video, audio, written and visual formats.

  • Create engaging content for Her Sport’s platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X (Twitter), LinkedIn and newsletters.

  • Attend sports events, press conferences and media opportunities, helping capture and share stories in real time.

  • Conduct interviews with athletes, coaches and key voices in sport, ensuring diverse and inclusive representation.

  • Work closely with the editorial team to meet content targets and deliver high-quality storytelling.

  • Pitch, script, shoot and edit content that informs, inspires and drives impact.

  • Monitor content performance and gain understanding of social media analytics and content strategy.

  • Complete structured training and development sessions with your assigned mentor.

  • Help track public sentiment around women’s sport and support quarterly reporting on visibility and engagement.

Background and Experience Required:

  • Strong interest in women’s sport in Ireland and globally.

  • Knowledge or experience in any of the following: video production, writing, scripting, podcasting, social media content.

  • Ability to work with tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe or similar.

  • Understanding of social media platforms, trends and audience behaviour.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours around live sport (some weekends/evenings).

  • A proactive, collaborative and growth-oriented mindset.

Internship Details:

  • Start Date: As Soon As Possible

  • Duration: 12 months

  • Location: Her Sport HQ, Dublin (office-based)

  • Salary: €30,000 – €34,000 depending on experience

  • This internship is full-time and designed to support early-career candidates passionate about media, storytelling and sport.

  • This internship is supported through the Sport Ireland Women in Sport Media Internship Initiative.

OPERATIONS AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (Full-Time)

A key leadership role pivotal to ensuring Her Sport reaches its goals and targets. The ideal candidate thrives in collaboration, enjoys relationship-building, and excels at streamlining operations. You will work closely with founders to refine products and explore new opportunities aligned with our vision.

Key Responsibilities

Team Operations & Culture

  • Manage team scheduling, project management, budget tracking, and annual leave.

  • Conduct monthly 1:1s and performance reviews to support development.

  • Coordinate team-building, staff events, and internal training.

  • Continuously refine workflows for efficiency.

  • Ensure clear internal communication.

Strategic Support

  • Coordinate internal business reviews and Board of Advisor meetings.

  • Support founders in translating board insights into strategies.

Business Development

  • Evaluate and develop current products and services.

  • Research and execute relevant products fulfilling impact or commercial goals.

  • Identify and nurture strategic partnerships in media, corporate, and government sectors.

  • Maintain ongoing relationships with partners, ensuring consistent value and communication.

Background and Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in operations, business development, or project management.

  • Exceptional organisational skills managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proven stakeholder management and strategic communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort engaging diverse audiences.

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and relevant productivity tools.

  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

  • Business mindset with ability to research and evaluate opportunities.

  • Passion for sports, gender equity, and social impact.

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: €42,000–€46,000, dependent on experience.

EDUCATION PROJECT LEAD (Contractor)

Her Sport delivers educational workshops across schools, clubs, and corporate settings. We seek an Educational Development Lead to review and update our programme aimed at reducing the gender participation gap among girls in sport.

Project Scope & Responsibilities

Programme Development

  • Update and develop evidence-based, engaging facilitator- and student-led workshops.

  • Collaborate with experts in education, sports science, nutrition, mental health, and wellbeing.

  • Lead the Her Sport educational committee to support content, impact measurement, and research.

  • Develop resources and digital content aligned with school requirements and policies.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Conduct focus groups with students, teachers, parents, and stakeholders.

  • Engage educational bodies, principals, and teachers to support programme adoption.

Facilitator Training

  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and training to ensure quality delivery.

Programme Implementation

  • Pilot workshops prioritising inclusivity and impact.

  • Develop ongoing engagement strategies including teacher CPD and e-learning.

Funding & Corporate Engagement

  • Identify funding sources including corporate sponsorships and grants (e.g., Erasmus+).

Impact Assessment & Sustainability

  • Create tools to assess programme impact and support future funding.

  • Position the programme for scalability and digital growth.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Expertise in programme design or project management within Irish education.

  • Strong knowledge of Junior and Senior Cycle curricula and educational policies.

  • Proven stakeholder engagement and partnership building skills.

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • Passion for gender equity, education, and sports social impact.

Salary & Terms

  • €3,500/month based on experience and deliverables.

  • Fixed-term contractor, full-time (5 days/week), approx. 6 months.
