In the League of Ireland Women’s Premier Division, Galway United currently sits in fifth place, trailing leaders Peamount by 12 points. Cliftonville, on the other hand, occupies the second spot in the Women’s Premiership, engaged in a fierce battle with Glentoran for domestic honours.

The Avenir Sports All-Island Cup has provided an additional platform for clubs to compete for silverware, and its introduction has been warmly received by teams and supporters alike. It offers an exciting opportunity to showcase the talent and strength of women’s football across the island.

Wexford Youths, who had high hopes of adding another trophy to their collection, faced disappointment as they narrowly missed out on a place in the Final. Despite a hard-fought match that ended 1-1 after 90 minutes, penalties ultimately favoured Galway United, securing them a 4-3 victory.
