Ireland to Face Scotland in Europe Netball World Cup Qualifiers

While all the attention today is on the Fifa Women’s World Cup qualifying match between Ireland and Scotland, the two countries are also about to compete for slots at another World Cup — Netball.

The Europe Netball World Cup Qualifiers will take place at Emirates Arena in Glasgow between Oct. 12th and Oct. 15th; competing are The Republic of Ireland, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Gibraltar, Wales, and the Isle of Man. Each team is competing for one of two qualifying spots at the 2023 Netball World Cup, which will be held in South Africa next July, with 16 teams competing for the Cup.

The event is structured in round robin fashion with final standings determining which teams make the cut. Scotland and the Republic of Ireland play each other at 7:30 PM on the 12th, in the first game of the event for both teams.

The European qualifiers are the fourth of five; the Oceania, Africa, and Asia Qualifiers have already been completed and the Americas Qualifiers start next week.

All matches are available for streaming on the Netball Scotland website.
