Beth Coulter wins Ulster Women’s Championship

Beth Coulter is the 2022 Ulster Women’s Champion.

The Kirkistown Castle golfer won the 18-hole competition at Portstewart, finishing on -4, one clear of Clandeboye’s Jessica Ross.

Coulter’s win is her second of the year on the Women’s Bridgestone Tour, after she was victorious in the Royal Portrush Scratch Cup.

Coulter and Ross were the only players to finish under par on the Strand Course, with the two players battling on the back-nine for the title.

The duo were both on level par going into the back-nine, but Coulter’s cause was not helped by three dropped shots on the 4th and 5th holes.

Coulter took advantage with a birdie on 10, with the pair both birdying 13 and 14. Another birdie on 15 for Coulter gave her a two shot advantage, but she held on for the win despite a Ross birdie on 17.

Killarney’s Corrina Griffin finished in third place on +1, two clear of Edmondstown’s Evelyn Park and Royal Portrush’s Laura Webb.
