Ciara McGing Sets New Irish Diving Record

Irish diver Ciara McGing has set a new Irish Record in Women’s 10M platform.

Irish diver Ciara McGing broke Tanya Watson’s 10M platform record as she took third place at the Big Ten College meet at Purdue University in Indiana.
19-year-old McGing who represented Shamrock Diving Club and Crystal Palace, has been diving for Ohio State University since September after moving earlier in January.

Competing against 25 other divers, McGing set a new personal best of 258 in the preliminaries. The young diver went on to finish third in the final, setting a new Irish record and a lifetime PB of 307 – a score which put her only 0.6 points away from second place.
McGing’s new record broke Tanya Watson’s previous record which she set back at the at the British Championships in January 2020, with a score of 298.90.
