Nike Unveils The First ‘Hands-Free’ Shoe

Nike has revealed their latest innovation – the Nike Go FlyEase. This is the first ‘hands-free’ runner.

We’ve had hands-free devices, now Nike has just unveiled its first hands-free sneakers!
The Nike “Go FlyEase” shoe is marketed as not requiring hands to put on and take off. The contactless runner is made for athletic and everyday use.
The new Nike innovation takes laziness to a whole new level. With a so-called’ bistable hinge’ – the shoe moves between two positions: an upright one where the inner sole of the shoe sits at a roughly 30-degree angle so you can easily slip your foot in, and the collapsed position in which the outer layer sits snugly around the inner one while you walk or run. It is effectively two shoes in one.

Sarah Reinertsen, manager of FlyEase Innovation at Nike, said in an interview that the debut of the shoe comes at a time when people are more conscious of not touching dirty surfaces, like the bottom of shoes.
“This shoe really responds to our current-day situation living in these Covid times,” she said. This is actually an innovation that has been cooking up in our innovation kitchen for a little while … but it just came out right at the right time, when we needed it more than ever.”
The sneaker giant is looking to take on Crocs with the €100 shoe that is being marketed as an everyday wear for athletes, busy mothers, and people looking to touch their shoes less during the pandemic.

Nike have created this shoe with comfort in mind with many consumers these days making this a number one priority. With many people still working from home and looking for an easy shoe to wear around the house or to run errands – this could prove to be a hit.
Or even for those with back problems, this could be the shoe of the future!
