Video: Katarina Johnson-Thompson Breaks Jess Ennis-Hill’s Record And Wins Gold

Katarina Johnson-Thompson finally put an end to her long awaited first global outdoor title by powering to heptathlon gold at the World Championships in Doha.
The 26-year-old Liverpudlian won gold in emphatic style. Johnson-Thompson smashed Jessica Ennis-Hill’s previous national record, set at the 2012 London Olympics, with a British record of 6,981 points.
The athlete nicknamed KTJ, led 2017 champion and favourite,  Nafissatou Thiam, by 137 points going into the concluding 800m. She stormed to victory in 2:07.26 – her fourth personal best of the competition.
On day 1 of the competition, she took 0.21 seconds off her previous best to win the 100m hurdles in 13.09 seconds. She followed this up with a huge personal best in the shot put, scoring a distance of 13.86m, 71cm further than her previous best.
The moment that effectively clinched gold for Johnson-Thompson was her third PB of the Championships where she threw 43.93m in the Javelin.
 In the end Johnson-Thompson beat Nafissatou Thiam in second place by 304 points.
