Northern Irish 59kg weightlifter Hannah Crymble was named the best female lifter at this weekend's National Senior Weightlifting Championships with an 85kg Snatch, 105kg Clean & Jerk, and 190kg total — all new Irish records in her weight category, as well as competition PBs for Crymble herself.
Crymble's Sinclair score — a measure used to compare lifters in different weight categories by multiplying their total lift by a coefficient related to body weight — was 260.8505.
Crymble, who has been outspoken about issues like body image and self-confidence, represented Northern Ireland in last year's Commonwealth games, where she finished in sixth after lifting 186 kg (83kg Snatch and 103kg Clean & Jerk) — personal bests at the time, but well below this weekend's performance.
She is a member of Fianna Weightlifting Club.
Rebecca Copeland triumphed in the 55kg category with a total lift of 149kg (69kg Snatch and 83kg Clean & Jerk).
