While Jenna Slattery did manage to locate a consolation goal from a penalty it was to no avail and The Gypsies picked up their fourth win of the season.

Galway WFC 6-1 Cork City

Despite conceding first The Tribeswomen secured a 6-1 triumph to make round 19 a memorable one at Eamonn Deacy Park.

An Eva Mangan bullet was the culprit but the daylight robbery that was to ensue was sparked off when Chloe Singleton clinched the equaliser.

Kate Slevin and Emma Starr made it 3-1 at the break, substitution Aoife Thompson adding yet another after the interval.

Starr established her brace and Ellie O'Flaherty made her way onto the scoreline too before the final whistle.

Earning four spots in the WNL team of the week for their efforts they will be optimistic they can carry the momentum into their next match.

Shelbourne 4-0 Athlone Town

Noel King’s outfit may not have matched a performance level of champions but bagged up their three points with four goals to display their undoubted talent regardless.

Chloe Mustaki took to the pitch to bring a smile far and wide in what was her first game in 18 months after a return from injury, but it was Emily Whelan who opened the scoring for the home side in Tolka Park before the lead was later doubled thanks to a Alex Kavanagh converted penalty.

Leah Doyle’s season debut seemed a fruitful one when she netted from close range to make it 3-0, Saoirse Noonan getting the final goal of the fixture in the 88th minute, making good on the two spot kicks she missed earlier.
