Scotland’s upcoming Euro 2025 qualifier vs Israel at Hampden Park on May 31st will now be played behind closed doors, with the Scottish FA having been alerted to ‘planned disruptions’ around the match.

The away fixture on June 4th, which was scheduled to be played in Budapest, Hungary, due to the ongoing Israeli–Palestinian conflict conflict, will now also be played without fans.

A statement from the SFA said that such measures are being taken “due to updated intelligence and following extensive security consultations with all key parties.”

"The stadium operations team were alerted to the potential for planned disruptions to the match and as a consequence we have no option but to play the match without supporters in attendance,” the statement continues.

"Measures are in place to provide an automatic and full refund to those supporters who have already purchased tickets for this match.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the decision but the safety of supporters, players, team staff and officials is of paramount importance."

Police Scotland echoed such concerns for the Hampden Park fixture.

Appropriate policing plans are in place to maintain public safety and minimise any disruption to the community,” a force spokesperson told Sky Sports.
