On Tuesday, 5 March 2024, the IRFU unveiled an exciting milestone, announcing the first ever Energia All-Ireland League Men’s and Women’s finals doubleheader that will be played at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday, April 28.

The action-packed day will kick off with the Women’s Division final at 1.45pm, followed by the Men’s Division 1A decider at 4pm.

Excitement is building as both divisions heat up, with the top four teams battling fiercely for coveted spots in the finals and home semi-finals. UL Bohemian currently lead the way, maintaining an unbeaten record at the summit of the Women’s Division, with Railway Union, Old Belvedere, and last season’s victors, Blackrock College, completing the current top four lineup.

In the men's, Clontarf leads the charge, closely pursued by Cork Constitution, reigning champions Terenure College, and Lansdowne. Meanwhile, Mark your calendars for the upcoming semi-finals and final rounds, with the Energia All Ireland Men’s Division 1A semi-finals slated for Saturday, April 20, and the final round of the Women’s Division set for Saturday, April 13.

Commenting on this groundbreaking initiative, Colin McEntee, the IRFU's Director of Rugby Development, said, “This is a unique and historic event for our domestic game and our Energia All Ireland League clubs. It’s a first finals double header with our Women’s and Men’s sides, who both work equally hard on and off the pitch, and deserve the recognition and reward of playing at the Aviva Stadium, the home of Irish Rugby.”

Energia’s Sponsorship Manager, Lorna Danaher, echoed this sentiment, saying, “We look forward to seeing the top teams from the Men’s and Women’s Divisions battle it out on Sunday, April 28, in what promises to be a day of blockbuster rugby. We encourage everyone to get down for both matches and support Men’s and Women’s grassroots rugby.”

Both games will be broadcast live on TG4 and tickets for this historic Energia All-Ireland League finals day will go on sale during the week commencing March 18.
