It was an eventful day 3 for Team Ireland at the World Rowing Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.
Steven McGowan and Katie O'Brien beat Poland in the heat of 1 of the PR2 mixed doubles sculls to secure a place in the final and booked a ticket for Ireland in the event at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. O'Brien and McGowan have secured the first boat for the country in the 2024 Paralympics, ending the 11 years it has been since Ireland had a crew compete in the Paralympics.

Fiona Murtagh and Aifric Keogh also placed first in their heat in the women's pair repechage. With their first-place finish, the Irish duo have qualified for the A/B Semis on Thursday morning.

The men's four of John Kearney, Jack Dorney, Adam Murphy, and Fionnán McQuillan-Tolan just missed out on the A/B Semis. After a fifth place finish in their repechage, the crew will race in the C Final.

Lastly, the men's quad of Brian Colsh, Andrew Sheehan, Ronan Byrne, and Konan Pazzaia had a fourth-place finish in their repechage, also narrowly missing out on the A/B Semi. They too will race in the C Final.
