‘Play Like A Girl.
Those were the words engraved onto Sarah Fuller’s helmet as she made history in America.
Fuller made a significant debut for Vanderbilt University, as she became the first woman to play in a Power Five College football game.
In the United States, the Power Five is the pinnacle of college football and consists of the biggest and most popular American Football conferences in the country.
Fuller is actually a soccer goalkeeper who plays for the Vanderbilt soccer team. A week prior, the 21-year old Texan helped her team win their first title since 1994 – the SEC Championship
After several members of the Vanderbilt University American Football team contracted COVID-19, Fuller was drafted in to take the spot as the specialist kicker.

Fuller was called into action in the third quarter of the game and sent the ball sent the ball 30 yards, right into the opposition 35-yard line. Unfortunately, Vanderbilt University lost 41-0 and she was not called upon again but that one kick will forever be etched in history.
Speaking after the game, Fuller said;
"Honestly, I was just really calm. The SEC (soccer) championship was more stressful! I just want to tell all the girls out there that you can do anything you set your mind to.”
"It’s just so exciting, and the fact that I can represent like the little girls out there who wanted to do this or thought about playing football or any sport really and it encourages them to be able to step out and do something big like this."
Fuller has continued to train with the team and is part of the squad which is preparing to take on one of the best teams in the country – Georgia State.
