Two months before Paris 2024, 27-year-old Simone Biles is proving she's still top of her field, as she won the all-around title at the US Classic on Saturday, May 18.

Her score was 59.500, 1.85 points ahead of Shilese Jones, who herself was two points ahead of the rest of the field.

Biles' 15.600 score for the Yurchenko double pike, aka the Biles II, was the highest score of any event in the tournament. She also collected the title on floor and second place in balance beam and uneven bars, the latter behind Jones.

"I was just happy to be back out there, get through those nerves again, feel that adrenaline," said Biles after the event.

Her coach Cecile Canqueteau-Landi commented, "I don't know if we can see it, but she's way more relaxed and enjoying competing and having fun. Truly, I think she's really found why she's doing it — and I think for the very first time it's truly for her."

The meet was remarkable for having three all-around Olympic champions competing — Biles (2016), Gabby Douglas (2012), and Sunisa Lee (2020).

Douglas, returning from an eight-year break, withdrew from the competition after two falls in her opening rotation. Lee was also returning to the sport this year after dealing with a serious kidney disease. She finished first on beam with a score of 14.600.
