September 17th saw Irish Gymnast, Halle Hilton finish 7th on floor and 8th on vault at the 2023 Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Paris.
Hilton spoke about this milestone achievement on an international stage: “I thought I did quite well. It was obviously really good to put my double twist out on vault and actually get the chance to put it out twice”, she said.
On her floor accomplishment, she added, “Floor it was amazing to do another floor routine and get the fitness up ready for world’s in a few weeks, obviously it was a bit of a mistake on the first tumble but you know it’s learning curves and good to get the routine out in such a big crowd.”
At just 19 years old, English-born Halle Hilton originally represented Great Britain with whom she won a bronze medal at the 2018 edition of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup. She then switched her representative country to Ireland who she represented at the event last year.
Next on the international agenda for Irish gymnastics are the 2023 World Championships set to take place in Antwerp from 30th of September to the 8th October.
