Dublin football star Noelle Healy has announced her retirement from Inter-County football after a glittering 17-year career in the blue of Dublin. The announcement comes after Inter-County training and football is given the green light to recommence for the 2021 season.
From making her senior football debut at just 17-years old, to winning every honour achievable in Ladies Football, Noelle Healy will go down as one of the games greatest.
The St Brigids footballer's illustrious senior career has seen her pick up FIVE All-Ireland titles, TEN Leinster crowns, ONE National League Division One medal and TWO National League Division Two titles. Not to mention, the Dublin star has been an All-Star four times and picked up the Player Of The Year award back in 2017, after a remarkable season and a memorable performance in the 2017 All-Ireland Final against Mayo.
As just one of a select few players to hold All-Irelands at U-14, U-16, minor and senior level, Healy's record is remarkable. A key member of Dublin's historic All-Ireland 4 in a row , Healy has without a doubt played a pivotal role in the teams successes and their recent dominance at Inter-County level.
One of her most recent accolades came in February of this year when she was named in the TG4 2020 Team of the Championship. She took up a well-deserved place at corner forward after playing a huge role in defeating Cork in the 2020 Championship.
In a statement with Dublin Ladies GAA she said “Its been beyond a dream to have represented Dublin at all age groups for the last 17 years, in both successes and failures.
Thank you to all the management teams I’ve had the honour of learning from and the teammates I’ve had the pleasure of playing with. I’m lucky that many of them I’m able to call great friends too.
My very best wishes to the squad in coming seasons, no doubt they will continue to go from strength to strength!”
An inspiration, a role model, and an incredible ambassador for Ladies Gaelic Football. Noelle Healy is a true legend of the game.
