AIB is proud to continue its support for the GOAL Mile and as part of the campaign AIB is offering people the chance to win €1,000 for their GAA club by registering for their GOAL MILE and entering the AIB GAA GOAL MILE competition.
AIB, proud supporter of the GOAL Mile, has today teamed up with former Kilkenny hurler Walter Walsh, Kerry LGFA player Kayleigh Cronin, Derry footballer Brendan Rogers, and Camogie player Amy Boyle to encourage communities in Ireland to ‘Step Up Together’ and take part in the GOAL Mile this Christmas.
As part of this year’s campaign AIB is also announcing the return of the GOAL Mile GAA competition. Members of the public who register for the GOAL Mile will once again have the chance to win one of the ten €1,000 prizes for their GAA, Camogie, or LGFA club. To win one of these ten €1,000 prizes, people need to register for their GOAL Mile and then enter their details into the AIB GAA GOAL Mile competition at www.aibgaagoalmile2024.com.
Earlier this year AIB made history becoming the first sponsor to united Gaelic Football, Hurling, Camogie and Ladies Football under one sponsorship. The All-Ireland Ladies Club Football Championships joined the AIB Camogie Club Championships and AIB GAA Club Championships under the #TheToughest banner. AIB is now calling on club members from these four codes to register for their GOAL Mile and continue to play a part in this long-established Christmas tradition, demonstrating the incredible spirit of togetherness in clubs the length and breadth of the country.
For over forty years, the GOAL Mile has seen tens of thousands of people run or walk a mile (just 2,000 steps) to raise funds for GOAL at Christmas, bringing people together in their communities to support GOAL’s humanitarian work in Africa, the Middle East and Latin America. These funds support the charity’s work with vulnerable communities in 15 countries across Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Europe, delivering a wide range of humanitarian and development programmes. Everyone can ‘step up together’ with family, friends, or the wider community, and can walk, stroll, jog or run!
People can get involved in a number of different ways, such as taking part in one of the 160+ GOAL Mile events being organised in Ireland and internationally, by starting their own GOAL Mile with their local club and community, or simply by registering with GOAL at www.goalmile.org and completing a mile in any place, at any time during December. Donations can also be made directly to GOAL via the AIB app.
