Australian Women’s Cricket Team claimed a comfortable 2-0 series win over the Irish in their highly anticipated ODI series last week.
Ireland put up a strong performance in their last game, with Orla Prendergast batting a 71, but were unable to defeat world number one, Australia. They lost by 10 wickets in their second game on Friday, July 28. The final score was 217 Ireland to 221-0 Australia.
They lost their first game on Tuesday, July 25, 321/7 to 168.
It was a very eventful ODI series for Australia and Ireland. The most-capped Ireland women’s player of all time, Mary Waldron, also announced her retirement at 39 after playing 13 years and 184 caps for the Irish National team.

Waldron, who was unable to play her last game due to injury, was recognized with a Guard of Honour and a presentation after the match.
Australian player Phoebe Litchfield became the second youngest Australian woman to hit an ODI century, on July 28, at age 20.

The win completed a series sweep for Australia.
The Irish side have a break until their tour to The Netherlands on August 14, 16 and 17.
