Paudie Murray announced he was stepping down from his Cork camogie manager position in an email to Chairperson Mairead Donovan last night.
Four time Senior All Ireland champion during his ten year dynasty (2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018), his side also featured in the most recent strive for the O’Duffy Cup but eventually lost out to overall winners Galway.
End of an era, a very successful era for Cork, and a revolutionary era on the pitch for camogie that Paudie Murray started. Intrigued to see his development work with Cork underage hurlers continue, presumably with U17s next year. Interesting to see who steps up for Cork Camogie https://t.co/fNPcPJA38l

In his resignation he recognised the sacrifices and efforts made by his management team, honing in on their “professionalism, expertise and knowledge.”
“It was a huge honour and I will be forever indebted to them” he says.
He also acknowledged the County Board’s input before bidding farewell to “an incredible bunch of players” of which he says were an “honour” to manage throughout his tenure.
“The joy, the tears, the sense of camaraderie and the memories shared will stay with me forever” says the multiple time manager of the year.
“You have been a credit to yourselves and I thank your families and partners for inculcating in you a sense of decency, a humility and a work ethic that will stand the test of time. I wish you every success in the future.”
Rumours now circle of Murray’s next adventure, with all pointers indicating he may be the next man in charge of the Cork minor hurlers.
The former Cloughduv and St Finbarr’s club member has been working with development squads in the county over the last two years but no disclosure message has surfaced as of yet.
This news now clears the way for Paudie Murray to be named the new Cork minor hurling manager. Expect white smoke soon.
