Rhasidat Adeleke has joined Ciara Mageean in withdrawing from this weekend's 123.ie National Track and Field Championships due to medical concerns.

Mageean's manager said in a statement that the decision was "a precautionary measure as she had a niggle" after her national record-breaking mile run in Monaco last week.

She came in second in that race, behind only Faith Kipyegon's new world record.

The 1500m is still expected to be competitive, as Sophie O'Sullivan and Sarah Healy — who came in first and second at the European U23 Championships a few weeks ago — will both race.

Meanwhile Adeleke has withdrawn "based on medical advice," according to Athletics Ireland.

The new favorite for the 200m is Lauren Roy based on her season's best of 23.54, but the race will be wide open.

Adeleke's next race will be at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest.

All action will be streamed live on Athletic Ireland's YouTube channel.
