There's no denying that Adeleke has had an impressive start to the 2024 season. Adeleke broke her own Irish indoor 60m and 200m records, running 7.15 and 22.49, at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational in New Mexico in January. Adeleke then set a new Irish 300m record with a second placed 36.42 to better her own Irish 300m record of 36.87 (which she had set in January 2022) at the prestigious Millrose Games in New York in February. It was also revealed recently that the 21-year-old has officially set 50 individual Irish national records.
Looking ahead, Adeleke is gearing up for her next individual race anticipated to take place in late May. Her current focus is on the World Relays scheduled in the Bahamas from May 4-5, where she aims to contribute to the Irish women's 4x400m and mixed 4x400m teams in their quest for Olympic qualification.
