Athletics Ireland have announced an exciting team of sixteen athletes set to compete at the upcoming European Indoor Championships which take place in Istanbul from March 2nd – 5th 2023.
The selection came the same day insurance company 123.ie were officially announced as the new official kit sponsor of Irish athletics, doubling down on their existing multi-annual six figure sponsorship of Athletics Ireland which began in November 2022.
The ‘Give better a try’ Irish insurance company will feature on the Irish international kit at major European and World events over the next three years, starting with the European Athletics Indoor Championships which take place in Istanbul next month.

The Athletics Ireland membership has bounced back tremendously following Covid lockdowns, resulting in 40,000 members registering by early February 2023, the earliest the figure has ever been reached in a calendar year.
Ireland’s high-performance athletes also continue to shine on the international stage, securing thirty international medals during the Tokyo Olympic cycle, compared to the twelve claimed during the Rio cycle.
