Speaking on the expectations of the team ahead of the opening day of competition, Team Leader and Coach John Szaranek said,

‘Expectations are that everyone is here, everyone’s in good form and everyone’s looking forward to racing, so, they’ve a great opportunity to showcase their talents on the World stageFor some this will be their first ever exposure to this level of meet, it’s all about experience, about seizing the moment, doing what they can when they stand up on the blocks and if they can perform at their best level, then we’ve got a chance to make some progressions. It’s going to be really difficult, we expect them to have to swim as fast as they possibly can in the mornings and then we take it from there.’

On Sunday, the opening day of the competition, Ellen Walshe will be joined by World (LC) debutant Ellie McCartney in the 200m Individual Medley.
