Ireland Sights Firmly Set On FIH Hockey Nations Cup Glory

Ireland Women will play their final Pool Stage match of the FIH Hockey Nations Cup tonight, February 27, at 20:00 Irish Time, as they take on Korea in a bid to secure top spot in Pool B.

The team enters their final pool game in fine form, having secured back-to-back victories thus far, starting with a commanding 3-0 win over Scotland, and followed up with a 1-0 win over New Zealand, the side they defeated in last year’s Nations Cup Semi-Final.

Having already booked their place in the competition’s semi-finals on Saturday, March 1, Ireland will now look to solidify their position at the top of Pool B. A victory over Korea would secure first place in the group, potentially setting up a more favourable draw in the knockout stages.

After claiming the silver medal in last year’s Nations Cup, Ireland have their sights firmly set on gold this time around. Lifting the trophy would not only mark a significant achievement for the squad but also secure their promotion to the prestigious FIH Pro League.

The game will be available to view on the TG4 Player.
