Sarah Healy Lowers Her Own National 1500m Indoor Record

Sarah Healy lowered her own national indoor 1500m record with a 4:01.62 at the Keely Klassic in Birmingham on Saturday, bettering her previous best of 4:03.83 which she set in February 2024. Healy crossed the finish-line in second place, following home her training partner Georgia Hunter Bell who clocked a winning time of 4:00.63.

Healy’s time ranks as third fastest women’s 1500m indoors in 2025.

The performance follows on from Healy’s record-breaking exploits in Boston earlier this month where she again broke her own indoor 3000m record to finish fourth in a time of 8:35.19. The 24-year-old would go on to better that time at the Millrose Games in New York the following week,  lowering the record to 8:30.79.

Healy holds entries in both the 800m and 1500m at next weekend’s 123.ie National Indoor Championships which take place at the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena across February 22nd & 23rd.
