Kate O’Connor OBLITERATES Irish Indoor Pentathlon Record!

Kate O’Connor produced an excellent performance at the World Athletics Combined Events Tour in Tallinn, Estonia, breaking her own national senior indoor record in the Pentathlon (Feb 2nd).

O’Connor, who became Ireland’s first ever heptathlete to compete at an Olympic Games in Paris last year, equalled or bettered her indoor personal bests in all five of her events to finish the competition in second place on 4,683 points. The total bettered her old mark set back in 2023 by 287 points.

The performance also saw the Paris Olympian secure the automatic qualification mark for the upcoming European Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn (March 6th – 9th).

Performance Summary:

  • 60mH – 8.37
  • High jump – 1.82m
  • Shot – 14.42m
  • Long jump – 6.16m
  • 800m – 2.13
