Sarah Lavin Breaks Ireland’s National 100m Record

Sarah Lavin has added another accolade to her impressive season after breaking Ireland’s national 100m record with a stunning 11:27 in Switzerland yesterday evening (4 September 2023).

The Limerick sprinter broke the previous record of 11.28 made by Phil Healy in 2018. Lavin finished second to Italy’s Zaynab Dosso who crossed in 11:15.

Lavin now holds both the national 100m and 100m hurdles records following on from her superb 12:62 at the World Championships in Budapest which broke Derval O’Rourke’s long-standing national hurdles record.
