Current World Super featherweight champion Alycia Baumgardner has returned an ‘adverse analytical finding’ and now faces a ‘full investigation’ after her undisputed world title win over Christina Linardatou., Matchroom Boxing has said. Baumgardner allegedly tested positive for mesterolone and methenolone acetate metabolites – two banned steroids.
The explosive boxer who hails from Ohio and holds the coveted WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring super featherweight titles, now finds herself in the crosshairs of controversy. Matchroom Boxing dropped a bombshell announcing that Baumgardner had returned an “adverse analytical finding” following a drug test carried out ahead of her clash with Christina Linardatou last month where she retained her titles.
However, Baumgardner is unyielding in her denial, branding the test result as “essentially impossible.” With fervent conviction, she’s taken to social media, penning a statement that exudes defiance and determination. She exclaims, “To be abundantly clear, I know that I never have, never would, and never will take this or any other drug. Not only would doing so be unethical, but it would also be completely contrary to how I’ve trained my entire career.”

The heart of the matter lies in the ‘A Sample’ provided on July 12, 2023, which allegedly revealed traces of mesterolone and methenolone acetate metabolites – substances that Baumgardner adamantly professes to have “never heard of or used in any way.”
