Ireland v Australia First Cricket Match Abandoned Due To Rain

The first match in the highly anticipated One Day International (ODI) match series between Ireland and Australia was abandoned due to poor weather conditions yesterday, July 23rd.
The sold-out opener at Clontarf Cricket Club was abandoned without a ball bowled, a disappointing beginning to the exciting series. This is the first time in 18 years that an ODI series is being played between Australia and Ireland.

The match was supposed to begin at 10:35 and was initially delayed in hope that the rain would let up and the pitch could dry. However, the match was ultimately called off after a pitch inspection.
Australia is currently the number one ranked team in the world for both ODI and T20 cricket, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC). Ireland is ranked 11th in the world for ODI and tenth for T20 cricket.
The second match is to begin tomorrow, July 25, at 10:35 am, and then final match will be on Friday, July 28, at 10:35 am.
