Homecoming Statistics: Cameron Threw Almost Double The Amount Of Taylor’s Punches

Homecoming did not go as planned for the boxing legend Katie Taylor, who missed her chance to become a two-weight undisputed champion on home soil after losing her first professional match via majority decision.

Taylor faced Chantelle Cameron on Saturday night, in front of a sold-out crowd in Dublin 3Arena. Both fighters gave it their all, and punch statistics from the fight illustrated how much damage both combatants dealt one another.

The stats prove that Taylor was more accurate with her punches than Cameron, with 39.1% of her punches landing compared to 25% for Cameron. While Taylor landed 46% of her power punches, Cameron landed more in 6 of the 10 rounds.

Cameron dominated the fight throwing a total of 565 punches, almost double Taylor’s total of 284 punches.

Cameron walked away with her biggest career win, having defeated the undisputed world champion. In the post-match interview, Taylor confirmed that she is “looking forward to the rematch”.
