Sligo Rovers To Provide Free Sanitary Products For Womens Teams

Sligo Rovers Football Club will now provide free sanitary products at all training sessions and games for its womens teams.

Sligo Rovers Football Club is making headlines with its latest initiative to support its female players and staff. In a move aimed at enhancing the women’s game in the region and promoting inclusivity, the club has announced that it will now provide free sanitary products at all training sessions and games for its womens teams.

“We have a duty of care to all players and staff, and this important step for our Women’s teams at the club will see sanitary products included as part of each team’s equipment,” said Elaine Crossan, Sligo Senior Women’s team Player Liaison Officer. “We believe period products should be available to all female players, staff, and supporters at no extra cost, just like toilet rolls and soap.”

The club’s Under 17 coach, Aisling Watters, echoed Crossan’s sentiments and expresses her appreciation for the new initiative. “From all at the Under 17 Sligo Rovers Women’s team, we really appreciate this initiative and we thank the club and Healthwise for organizing it,” says Watters.

The products will be initially sponsored by Healthwise Pharmacy, located on Holburn Hill in Sligo Town, and then provided by the club for the remainder of this season and beyond. The club is also open to new partners who may be interested in supporting the initiative.

The club also announced the Senior Women’s team Away Kit for 2023 will feature black shorts instead of the usual white shorts, with no Women’s team at the club using white shorts going forward.
