Super Saturday ahead with the MissQuote.ie Champions Trophy up for grabs

This weekend sees the National League finals take place with ‘Super Saturday’ on April 1st as The Address UCC Glanmire take on DCU Mercy in the MissQuote.ie Champions Trophy final at 12pm.

The Address UCC Glanmire will be hoping to defend their MissQuote.ie Champions Trophy with the game taking place at the National Basketball Arena.

Mark Ingle’s DCU Mercy showed resilience when required in the semi-final as Trinity Meteors tried to rally in the closing stages of a 67-58 win for the home side at DCU Arena. It was the fourth time the sides met in this campaign with incredible shooting on display with DCU’s Lindsey Abed particularly on form.

Mark Scannell’s The Address UCC Glanmire came through their semi-final slightly easier an were dominant in the second half of their 94-67 win against Waterford Wildcats. The defending champions saw nine players register points in the box score, Brittany Byrd and Khiarica Rasheed combined for 47, with Claire O’Sullivan (13), Amy Dooley (9) and Aine McKenna (9) all making crucial shots.

It sets up an intriguing meeting between the best offence and defence in Irish women’s basketball at the National Basketball Arena on Saturday.
