Tiegan Ruddy bids farewell to Peamount united. The 22-year-old defender has been offered a professional contract with Swiss FC Sion.
This will be her first professional contract and she has told the press she is “buzzing” to have the opportunity. She said “I’ve waited a long time for this and can’t wait to get going”. This is also a promising sign of the increase in professional contracts being offered to women in soccer.
Despite the excitement of this recent news, she still honoured her club stating “Thank you for everything Peamount FC, it’s been a pleasure”
Ruddy has been a very valuable player for Peamount United and a strong asset to the team dynamic so is sure to be missed by the Irish club.
Peamount tweeted after the news was released that “Tiegan has been a fantastic player for us and we wish her well in this exciting new stage of her career!”.
