Arsenal had to stay calm and work hard for their 4-0 victory against Aston Villa which saw them stay top of the Women’s Super League.
That makes it four wins from four for Jonas Eidevall’s side with Aston Villa’s unbeaten start to the season coming to an end. After a goalless first half, the flood gates opened for Arsenal after Captain Kim Little made the breakthrough six minutes after the half-time interval.

Villa’s defensive resistance crumbled in the final 10 minutes of the game which saw Arsenal score three in quick succession. It was Katie McCabe who scored the pick of the goals with a beautifully weighted chip over Hannah Hampton in the Aston Villa net from 40-yards out. That was McCabe’s second goal in four games and comes off the back of her goal against Man City in another rout.
Captain Kim Little scored twice and Mana Iwabuchi was also on target. Villa’s Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah tested Manuela Zinsberger, but the Austrian goalkeeper was able to tip her effort over the bar, while Frida Maanum went close for Arsenal in the 39th minute but her shot flew wide.
Little broke the deadlock six minutes into the second half after receiving the ball from Lotte Wubben-Moy, turning and firing into the bottom right corner. Mayumi Pacheco had a chance to equalise but her free-kick sailed just over the bar before a flurry of late Arsenal goals sealed the points in style.
Tobin Heath made ground down the left and set up Iwabuchi, who flicked the ball home from close range in the 80th minute and Little completed the scoring with a deflected shot which dipped over Hampton’s head.
